Sunset-Moonrise Snowshoe & Campfire – W5

What?  2-2.5 hours moderately strenuous snowshoe up Mt Gillespie (Anarchist Summit) to view the sunset (7:07 PDT) and the moonrise (5:54PDT) followed by a sit-around-the-campfire.

When?  Sunday March 8 leaving at 6pm.

Where?  Leave from corner of Timberwolf and Timber Roads (1km north on second Sidley Mountain Road off Hwy 3).

Who?  Florian will lead this on his customized loop route.  He will pause for lots of rests…promise!  Bring your “fit” friends, relatives and visitors.

Why?  It works out well for daylight savings, sunset, moonrise/phase (almost full), view of Venus and the snow should be good and supportive.  A great excuse to get out and enjoy winter before it is gone!

BYO…snowshoes, mountain gear & water.  For afterwards: chair, beverages, snacks, marshmallows, hotdogs and roasting sticks.  I (Dean) will bring my guitar and some sing-a-long books if the weather cooperates.  Other campfire players/singers welcome!!!
