President/Acting Vice President
After vacationing in the area, Jennine and her husband saw Anarchist Mountain as a place where their children could have a mountain lifestyle in an amazing community. Their favourite activities include getting out to explore our mountain neighbourhood – on snowshoes in winter and bikes in warmer months. Jennine has a passion for woodworking and creating and feels fortunate that she has been able to establish a career right here on the mountain.
Jennine envisions a community that continues to grow and welcome young families. She’s excited to bring family-friendly community events to the mountain and would love to see a community hall on Anarchist Mountain one day! Jennine is also a Silent Auction team member.
Secretary
Always drawn to this region for vacations, Maya and her husband made the move to Anarchist Mountain for the breathtaking beauty and to raise their young family in the great outdoors.
Maya worked for over 15 years in Mental Health and Substance Use in the Greater Vancouver region. Working in Health Promotion, she believes in the restorative power of nature for our physical and mental health. She is now proud to call Arosa Ranch home, operating a small campground and event venue.
Maya loves photography, being in nature, yoga, playing cards or board games and traveling. She volunteered for the AMCS board in part, for the opportunity to meet more residents of this wonderful community.
Treasurer
Sandra and her husband Ard moved to Anarchist Mountain to build a home in a beautiful area away from the coastal rains. Immediately they were welcomed by friendly neighbours and enjoyed the social activities in the area and at the Summit Centre.
After working in the BC Ministry of Finance for 20 years, Sandra thought getting involved with volunteer activities to keep using her accounting skills would be a great way to give back. She and her husband enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and exploring the area’s back roads and wineries. With great restaurants and venues like Venables Theatre on our doorstep who needs the big city?
Director of Jamie Soule Memorial Park (JSMP)
Anarchist Mountain checked all the boxes for the next chapter in Wendy and Ali’s lives – a small, peaceful acreage in the mountains, neighbours within throwing distance, amazing views, mild winters, plus orchards, interesting activities, great local restaurants, and the friendly welcome of mountain residents. Six months after getting settled in their dream home, Wendy’s husband passed away unexpectedly. She chose to stay on the mountain because of the incredibly vibrant and supportive community. And for this reason, the JS Memorial Park has great significance for her.
Wendy enjoys connecting with others and likes to contribute to the community. She was the Food Coordinator at the Anarchist Mountain firehall during the 2021 wildfire, organized the Share your Passion event last fall and helped establish and fundraise for the community quilting group. Wendy still works from home but finds time for her love of hiking, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
