RDOS Engagement Session

Anyone registered for RDOS Voyent Alert would have received notification about the upcoming public engagement session in Oliver on Friday, February 23 about drought in the South Okanagan. Details about the session are also provided below.

Those of us that access water for our homes from groundwater wells are not immune to the impacts of drought. Provincial restrictions on groundwater use because of drought can also impact firefighting activities.

The low snowpack in the surrounding mountains means less melt, which is critical for the recharge of groundwater sources.

The planned engagement session is a great opportunity for Anarchist Mountain residents to learn about and better understand how drought impacts us all – from water use for residential purposes, to environmental stewardship, and the ability to fight wildfires that can threaten our homes and property.
