2023 AGM Recap

Last Sunday afternoon community society members gathered at the Firehall to vote in the new 2024 board members as well as receive updates on what has happened over the last year. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) concluded with the appointment of four returning and three new directors.

We heard from Sandra Newfield who provided an update on where the society stands from a financial aspect and Wendy Shah who filled us in what has been happening at the Jamie Soule Memorial park over the last few months. We were excited to share that $75,000 has been granted to building infrastructure at the park and in the spring the construction of a covered bandshell will begin.

Mark Pendergraft expressed his regrets for missing the meeting due to unexpected circumstances. He will be providing a brief report regarding future plans for the JSMP and RDOS funding for development projects.

The AGM served as a platform for members to voice their aspirations and concerns, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. Beyond the formalities of voting, the event provided an opportunity for open dialogue and collaboration. As the newly elected and returning directors take their positions, the community society looks forward to continuing events that bring the community together as well as serving as a hub of information for all mountain residents.
