The Anarchist Mountain Fire Department and the Anarchist Mountain Community Society announce the seventh annual Anarchist Mountain Community Silent Auction. With the COVID 19 Pandemic and the social distancing restrictions in effect, we have decided to hold the auction online and it will be held over a period of one week starting Sunday Aug 23 11:00 am and ending Saturday Aug 29 6:00 pm. All proceeds will be donated to the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department.
Unless you already have a WordPress account for the AMCS website, you must register to bid on an item. When you select an item you want to bid on, it will take you to the associated page, where there will be a Login or Register button at the top of the page. After registering, please log into your account and add your name and address to ensure you receive the item(s) you may win on the auction. Adding your name and address will also ensure that there are no “Ghost Bidders” that could compromise the integrity of the Auction. Any accounts without your full name will be deleted as a security precaution. If you encounter any issues with registering, please send an email to email@example.com and we will add you to our user base.
Instructions to place a bid
Once you have registered and have received your password to enable access to the Silent Auction, you can select which of the items you would like to bid on. There is an area where you can enter your bid, but it will have to meet the minimum “Bid” (under Place Bid) or you will receive an error that you have not met the minimum amount. Once you enter your bid, you will receive an email informing you that you have the highest bid. If someone else bids higher, you will receive an email informing you that you no longer hold the highest bid, and the email will provide you with a link to increase your bid if you so desire. Once the Auction is completed on Aug 29, we will send the winning party an invoice for the item they have purchased. The item can be paid for directly from the invoice by credit card or EFT and arrangements for pick up or delivery of the item will be confirmed. You will have seven (7) days to make payment or the next highest bid will “Win” the item.
We have set up a Trial Item for you to bid on, so that everyone has a chance to try the Auction System and become familiar with it before the actual auctions takes place. The Trial Item is “Drinks with Ogopogo”. The trial auction item will be available to bid upon until Aug 19, 6pm. There is no actual item and therefore no limits on the bid amounts or minimum bid increments. To reiterate, this is intended to let everyone test the system to ensure there are no issues while the auction is running.
We are still obtaining items for the auction, so the list may change while you are viewing the site. All auction items will be listed on the site by Aug 16 2020.
At this time, “Watch this Auction” is inoperable due to browser restrictions. You can always navigate back to the Auction website to see how each item is progresssing.
If you have any questions or problems with the Auction Site, email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will respond as soon as possible.
We would like to thank all the sponsors for their continued support, and would ask everyone taking part in the auction to support these businesses to show your gratitude.
You may notice that the items are all “Open for Auction”, but this is only intended to be a means to ensure all items are displaying properly and the Auction system is working properly. Any Bids entered before Aug 23 will be deleted.
Drinks with Ogopogo is the only item open for Trial Bidding.
