Plan a Neighbourhood Activity – Get up to $500!

In the past few years, Anarchist Mountain residents have enjoyed ‘neighbour organized’ community activities with financial support from the South Okanagan Similkameen Neighbourhood Small Grant (SOS NSG) program. A 2023 project, ‘An Artistic Tribute to our Volunteer Fire Fighters’ is featured on the SOS NSG home page. Residents Reminded to Secure Wildlife Attractants

It is that time of year again, when wildlife such as bears, coyotes and other critters are out and about, and looking for food.

In the past, Anarchist Mountain has had bears come dangerously close to people and pets.  Fortunately, since residents have been educated of how to manage attractants and co-exist with our wildlife, these issues have decreased significantly over time.

What Can I Recycle?

We all know how important recycling is for the environment, so it just makes sense to do it.

But do you get confused as to what goes in your curbside bin and what goes to the depot?  Here’s a quick refresher.

Most packaging and paper can be collected curbside or can be taken to depots for recycling. A few items are only accepted at depots, such as in Osoyoos and Oliver.

National Earth Day Celebration – Learn About the Land

National Earth Day is on April 22nd, and there is so much to celebrate when you live in such a beautiful place like Anarchist Mountain.

But do you know what’s growing around you and the difference between an invasive weed and a native wildflower?

We have many varieties of native plants in our back yards and across the mountain. However, with the disturbance of soil through building and bringing in other materials, invasives weed species are brought in and can spread.

Charity Yard Sale

Charity yard sale to raise funds for disaster relief around the world.

Friday-Saturday April 19-20 and Friday-Saturday April 26-27 from 8am at 5691 Dogwood Lane, Oliver.

Funds will be collected for Canadian Lutheran World Relief’s disaster relief efforts around the world. 

Donation of garage sale items are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off in advance at any time or during the yard sale.
