Local public schools are officially back in session starting Tuesday September 5th! With more and more young families calling the mountain home all the time, here are a few friendly reminders as we get back into the swing of things:
- Our bus stop is about to be bustling once again. This means consistent traffic turning in and out of the rest area as well as increased pedestrian potential within the rest area and on roadways.
- If you find yourself following the school bus up or down the mountain, please be patient and courteous. Give them the space to travel at an appropriate speed and if you are going to pass, wait until it is safe and legal to do so.
- It goes without saying, but posted speed limits should be followed at all times. In town, keep an eye out for school and playground zones. School zones are typically in effect within school hours on school days, unless posted otherwise. Playground zones are typically in effect from dawn to dusk every day of the year, unless posted otherwise.
Let’s all work together to look out for our young community members and get everyone home safe!
Just a reminder that if you have children taking the bus, a new bus registration needs to be submitted every year. If you haven’t yet registered for 2023-2024, you can do so here.
