It is that time of year when we have an exercise in patience.

Given the early (and heavy) snowfall, garbage collection may be delayed or held until the following week when road conditions are poor or there are mechanical issues.

Waste Connections in Penticton advises that garbage and other items scheduled for pickup, are put out on the usual collection day. The driver will do his best to get through the road conditions, but if there is no pickup by 4pm, then there will be extra collection the following week.

Therefore, if it is a recycling pick up day and pickup is not possible, it will be collected the following week.
