Anarchist Mountain Fire Department Working Hard:

We are trying hard to keep you informed so that you know what is happening on the mountain. Because we are all multi-tasking, you may not hear anything for a period of time. Rest assured….no news is good news! It was a relatively calm night with some progress made, BUT with a fire, things could change quickly – which is why evacuation orders remain in effect in this area. The AMFD crew was pleased with their efforts last night. These guys and gals work tirelessly for 12+ hour shifts.

It has been a busy day with crews continuing to do structure protection and fire guards. We are very grateful for the long days that our mutual aid crews and contractors provide.

We are receiving a lot of questions about how one can help out. First of all, our fire crews from here and elsewhere love hearing your words of support – we do read them! Secondly, we have had a lot of donations of food, beverages, etc. and we greatly appreciate it. Right now, we have good stock with what we have, as our ability to store extra things is limited. We will reach out should that change. The biggest help is from financial donations, so we can buy what we need when we need it. Please go to this link to find out how: https://anarchistmountaincommunitysociety.com/virtual…/…💥MOST IMPORTANT: Please don’t forget to support your LOCAL volunteer fire department. So many of them are out helping us, on their time, with their equipment. We could not be fighting this fire without them!

Crews will remain active throughout the night. We have numerous AMFD members working around the clock who have also received evacuation orders…..but somehow just keep going, and even with a smile. On the mountain, it goes without saying – we take care of each other!

We have some amazing help with structure protection.
A structure protection unit (SPU) is a cache of equipment stored in a trailer that is used by trained structure protection specialists to set up sprinklers on and around a structure. SPUs can be effective in reducing wildfire threats to our homes.
One of the systems being used are the WASP sprinklers on homes, which we learned about at our FireSmart day just this past weekend!
Let’s give a shout out to these great people helping to protect our homes while we are evacuated.
