Unpacking the Guide webinar #5


We are pleased to invite you to attend the 5th webinar in our “Unpacking The Guide” series entitled “Honoring the Role of Fire on the Land”  happening from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26th. 

This webinar will focus on the Syilx Okanagan Nation’s perspective. The Syilx have always conducted prescribed burns to rejuvenate and restore the land. Open forests and grassland ecosystems were maintained through frequent, low-intensity ground fires managed at the right time of year before new growth started.  Our speakers include:
