    Thanks so much for posting this Gerry. I agree with what you articulate here with one exception. My understanding is that once a bear finds food in a location, they will return again and again. By implication then, taking your bird feeder down after the bears have discovered it is like shuttling the barn door after the horse gets out. In my view, there is no need to feed birds on the Mountain as there is an abundance up here. I think the principle that we NOT feed wildlife is a sound one. They can feed themselves, and yes this includes feral cats.
