As Friends and Neighbours first, Denise Soule and Sue McEvoy found that their love for music brought them together along with Denise’s husband, Jamie, Anarchist Mountain’s Deputy Fire Chief, our bass player, vocalist and formed our small country group – Double Stop Creek. It was music that brought us through tragic personal loss when Jamie passed away this past New Year’s Day. Making the decision to “play on” and continue on our musical journey has been a balm to the heart and “soule”.
Come on in and gather round and enjoy Christmas, cowboy style, a reminder of simpler times, a reminder that cowboys and cattle don’t get holidays and a neighbour’s call for help with “riding the line” never went unanswered. When families gathered round the Christmas tree and the excitement of the young ones making sure Santa had those milk and cookies. Enjoy an evening of untraditional Christmas songs from our favorite country artists the likes of Michael Martin Murphy, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Suzy Bogguss, Kenny Chesney and Alabama. Gather round and lets have Christmas like Momma used to make it!
