Garbage dumped at Sasquatch Pond

Dear Neighbours,

Yesterday, several residents contacted me about some illegal dumping of garbage and electronic devices on Sasquatch Trail.  One of our neighbours contacted the regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) and spoke to the By-Law Enforcement Dept. . This resident was able to find evidence in the garbage debris of the likely perpetrator’s name, address and even a phone number form a drug prescription script. (No-one ever said these folks are smart!). The RDOS is confirming this person’s address (seems to be in Osoyoos) and sending them a warning letter that they will be prosecuted if this ever happens again. RDOS said they will send a pick-up truck to pick up the mess.

We see garbage and illegal dumping from time to time on Anarchist Mountain. It is very annoying, but other than catching someone red handed it is hard to defend against this. If you see an offense occurring try to get a licence plate number and a photo (mobile phone?) ; and report this to the RDOS By-Law Enforcement Dept., or RCMP. We commend and thank the resident who took on contacting RDOS to get this cleaned up.
