Bear Sightings

Update from Debbie Dundass:

‘Our’ Bullmoose Bear has been around since mid-June when it was first spotted hunting a deer with two tiny fawns. Fortunately, the fawns survived the attack but it was like watching a National Geographic show on on our front lawn. The bear has been seen quite frequently by numerous Bullmoosian’s since that time. So far, no damage done just way less wild Saskatoon berries to harvest.

Dear Neighbours,

In the past two weeks there have been about 3 – 4 sightings of black bears in our community. There have been sightings on Sasquatch Trail, Blacktail Trail and on Grizzly Road.   The two bears in the picture were below Grizzly Place / Grizzly Road. One resident on Blacktail had a visit from a bear this past week who damaged their gas BBQ ; and a second house also on Blacktail frightened a bear off this week.

Keep your eyes open, and make lots of noise if you have a visit from a bear. Don’t approach a bear, and for sure don’t leave anything out that is potential food for a bear. Setting your garbage out the morning of garbage pickup is a good idea rather than the night before, as the smell attracts bears to your home.
