Joyce Berg – ALS Walk

Dear Friends & Neighbours;

Our neighbour Joyce Berg is once again participating in the ALS Walk in Kelowna on June 25. Joyce has a form of this nasty disease and has been battling it for several years. I am pleased to say that she is doing very well with her condition at the present time, she looks wonderful and her spirit is as bubbly and cheery as always.  Joyce is truly amazing!

The ALS Walk program is the major fund raiser of the ALS Society. Funds not only support research but are also used to make the lives of ALS patients better as they deal with their challenges.  Below is a message from Joyce about the ALS Walk. I hope you will consider being on “Joyce’s Team” through a pledge.

FROM JOYCE

Hi everyone.  May is ALS Awareness month & the Okanagan Walk is just around the corner.  We’re participating in the Walk again, our 5th year, & I’m asking for your support again.  It means so much to me!!  This year I’m dedicating our walk to my friend Neil Hemming.

Neil was diagnosed with PLS in 2006 (same year as me).  A mutual friend of ours introduced us to Neil & Donna and we were there for each other from then on.  Unfortunately Neil’s PLS progressed to a diagnosis of ALS in 2015.  Neil fought fiercely but in April 2016, he lost his battle.  My heart aches but it’s a blessing to know that Neil is no longer dealing with the pain & struggles of this horrific disease.

I hope you’ll support me again this year.  Just click on the link below & it will take you to my personal walker page.  If you know of anyone else who would like to donate, I would really appreciate you forwarding this email to them.
