Living here on Anarchist Mountain, residents are blessed with beautiful scenery along with the availability of abundant natural lands to enjoy. In addition to viewing the scenery and breathing the fresh air, many residents get outdoors for walks, cycling and hiking in the spring/summer/fall and in the winter, snow activities including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and motorized snow vehicles.
With the increased population in the general area over the last few years, there has been an increase in the usage of the multi-use, wider trails in the nearby backcountry. Everyone playing in the snow loves the temptation of unspoiled snow yet for the enjoyment of others, we encourage that common courtesy be displayed by users.
For example, snowshoers and cross-country skiers may consider keeping to the one side, (snowshoers being careful not to walk on skiers’ tracks), and motorized vehicles, such as snowmobiles and ATV’s travel down the other side and/or not on pre-existing footpaths, along with considering to travel single file until more than 3 miles away from the residential area, which would be the radius of most foot users (snowshoers and cross-country skiers). It is recognized that at intersections there will inevitably be crossing trails, this is not an issue if the majority of main runs are kept reasonably separate.
