Yoga on the Mountain: Free, introductory class on Tues. Nov. 24- 9:30AM

Thanks everyone for your interest in Yoga on the Mountain.

Everyone is welcome to try a no-charge introductory class at the Summit Centre on Tuesday November 24 at 9:30 am. Please arrive about 10 to 15 minutes early, in order to get yourself situated. Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement, and bring a yoga mat. If you don’t have a mat, please bring a blanket. I do have an extra mat, and will try to purchase a few more before Tuesday. But if possible, please bring your own mat. Mats are available at Home Hardware Osoyoos (limited quantities, $18.99 to 29.99), and Canadian Tire Oliver (more stock and variety, $15.99 to 29.99).

Please bring socks and something warm (maybe even a scarf and blanket) for the relaxation portion of the class. We practice yoga in bare feet to avoid slipping. When you arrive, leave your shoes near the door to avoid tracking dirt into the “studio”. It’s also a good idea to bring water to keep yourself hydrated.

My name is Suzy Williamson, and I’m new to the Anarchist Mountain community. I’m a certified Pilates and Yoga instructor and would like to offer an all-levels class at the Summit Centre.

This post is to tell you a little bit about the class, and determine the level of interest. The class would be multi-level (no experience necessary). It would be drop-in, so you don’t have to commit to coming every week. The class will focus on fundamentals and alignment by moving through postures at a slower pace. My yoga classes include some Pilates-based core-strengthening and posture work, and you should come away feeling relaxed, revitalized, and with increased strength, balance and flexibility.

I’d like to propose Tuesday mornings at 9 or 10 am for one hour. The drop-in fee will be $10. Before beginning I would offer a no-charge class, so you can try it out and see if it’s for you.
