Attempted Break-In at the Summit Centre

Last week, sometime between the routine checks of the building on Tues. and Thurs., there was an attempted break-in at the Summit Centre.

While the culprits didn’t gain access to the building, they did do some extensive damage to 2 of the doors and also disconnected the wires in a communications box and disconnected the power by manipulating the Fortis hydro meter.

Power has since been restored and work is underway to add security camera coverage and to replace the damaged doors.  A sign, indicating that the Summit Centre is a private building not associated with the rest area, is also planned.

Please help protect our beautiful Summit Centre by keeping your eyes open for suspicious activity when you are walking or driving by.  Report any unusual activity to Mark McKenney.
