This is an image of the planets Venus (the brighter one) and Jupiter taken in a deep twilight sky with Osoyoos in the foreground. A good pair of binoculars will reveal some if not all of Jupiter’s four brightest moons. The moons do orbit Jupiter quickly so their positions and visibility will change night to night.
The pair will be snuggling after sunset for a few weeks, but this is an illusion as they are very far apart in the solar system. Venus is about 50 million miles away and Jupiter is an astounding 590 million miles away from us.
