Anyone know the name of this flower?  It’s beautiful and first I have seen up here.

    It is the Mariposa Lily. Endangered due to invading non native species.

    I figured. So blessed to have it on my property. It’s beautiful. Now to make sure it’s safe? And how to propagate? Thanks !

      You cannot propagate it, (and do not pick it). This lily is a wild flower that will propagate itself in the right conditions. It likes the acid soil around the Ponderosa pines…

    never pick the Mariposa lilly ( mariposa spanish for butterfly ) if picked the plant ( bulb ) will die .
    the same is for all our wild orchids on this mountain ! and so far I have discovered 5 diff. ones !
