Anyone know the name of this flower? It’s beautiful and first I have seen up here.
Sagebrush Marippsa Lily…
Auto correct !!! Should be Mariposa… LOL !!!
It is the Mariposa Lily. Endangered due to invading non native species.
I figured. So blessed to have it on my property. It’s beautiful. Now to make sure it’s safe? And how to propagate? Thanks !
You cannot propagate it, (and do not pick it). This lily is a wild flower that will propagate itself in the right conditions. It likes the acid soil around the Ponderosa pines…
You’re so lucky Jill…wild animals and wild flowers! Beautiful..thanks for posting.
never pick the Mariposa lilly ( mariposa spanish for butterfly ) if picked the plant ( bulb ) will die .
the same is for all our wild orchids on this mountain ! and so far I have discovered 5 diff. ones !
They’re easy to propagate Jill… Remember “Google” is your friend… “How to propagate Mariposa lilies”…
