Consider supporting Joyce & Erwin on the Okanagan Walk for ALS

Dear Anarchist & Sidley Mountain neighbours;

I am sending around a note from Joyce Berg, one of our dearest residents on the Mountain. Joyce has ALS, and is a marvelous example of the power of the human spirit to deal with personal adversity. For those of us that know Joyce and her husband, Erwin; you know that a smile, a gentle and kind word are what you’ll get from them every time. Joyce has a marvelous spirit and has raised awareness of ALS by her positive attitude.  Have a look at her website, and consider supporting this important effort to defeat ALS.

 A Note from A Wonderful Neighbour

Hello everyone,

This is the 4th year in a row that Erwin & I are participating in the Okanagan Walk for ALS. It’s taking place in June & I’m hoping you will make a donation to this worthwhile cause. This year we’re walking in memory of a friend’s grandfather, Carman Bell. Carman was 62 years old when he was diagnosed with ALS. He was given 2 to 5 years to live. Sadly, he didn’t even make it 2 years. He lost his battle with ALS the same year of his diagnosis. A young life lost way too soon.

Your support is greatly appreciated. Your donations will help the ALS Society support people with ALS and their families on their difficult journey. It will also support ALS Canada’s investment in breakthrough research to find treatment and a cure.

I am not sure if I’ll be able to do many more Walks. I’ve set my goal at $5,000. It would be wonderful to reach that goal or exceed it & make it “the BEST year ever!!” It is my hope that you will sponsor me by making a secure online donation using your credit card. Just click on the link below to donate now. Also if you could share this link with your friends & families, this will help with my fundraising & raise awareness about this dreadful disease.

Thank you for your support!  Please tell anyone who wishes to donate but is hesitant to donate online, they can send their donation to Joyce Berg, 150 Grizzly Place, Osoyoos, BC V0H 1V6.
