Dear Neighbour,
We all know the importance of making sure that fires don’t become a devastating event in our community. Last year we had a few fires on the mountain that were quickly brought under control by our Fire Dept., but each of us has to be aware of our own fire safety and readiness.
This community has gained FireSmart recognition again this year. This is a very prestigious achievement with Anarchist Mountain being the first community, outside of First Nations communities, to be awarded that status in BC. Our FireSmart Committee wants to broaden and improve our program and that’s where you come in. They need a person in each sub-division cluster to participate as their area “champion” and participate in helping willing neighbours understand what can be done to improve fire safety around their properties. Have a look at the documents, below, and consider if you can lend.
