Peregrine Studios was founded in January 2007 with a vision of growing the Okanagan Valley music community.  Barbara’s past experience with voice is in Carla Bagley’s studio, an awesome instructor from Mt. Royal University, who has provided Barbara a wealth of experience singing and playing piano.  Some of her experiences include, but are not limited to, performing in the Kiwanis Music Festival final concert in “At the End of the Day” from Les Miserables, acquiring numerous certificates and awards from the Kiwanis Music Festival, performing in professional performances, weddings and funerals, as well as Operamore and Sopranos with an Attitude, and a professional concert with Carla Bagley.  Barbara has also performed with Vivien Browne and Peri Best from Osoyoos and area in recital as Opera Antics, and in her home as well as in Rock Creek.  She has provided a workshop to the choir at the church in Rock Creek.

Barbara has extensive experience in musical theatre, group numbers, duets and trios, women’s choir, pop music, opera scenes, art song (German, English, French and Italian), oratorio, church music and folk.  She has a three-octave range of low E to a high E above high C and believes in teaching the beauty of the singing voice to her students.  She has also attended Summer Music Summer School in England with tutors from the Guildhall School of Music, England, et al.

Barbara has been a vocal teacher at the Penticton Academy of Music and now teaches in her home on Anarchist Mountain.  She wishes and hopes that students will wish to perform in various venues throughout the area in order to improve, and encourages students to take exams whenever possible to set themselves a standard and obtain high school credits (Grade 8 exam level).  They may also become a performer in the real world.

Please feel free to contact Barbara for performances, private lessons, group lessons, workshops, seminars, speaker engagements, etc.
