On Sept 23, Denis Thomson the Chair of our FireSmart Committee spoke to delegates at the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) convention in Vancouver. UBCM is the organization representing municipalities in BC. Denis was invited to tell the story of how our community FireSmart program came into existence and how residents here continue to benefit from “FireSmart” activities in this community. We are unique here in being the first non-native FireSmart Community in BC.
